Almabtrieb in Terento – South Tyrol

Also this year, the farmers from Terenten will participate at the legendary "Almabtrieb" in Terento, when the cattle are brought back home from the alpine pastures after the summer months. Cows, calves and goats summer break on high altitudes with fresh alpine air, nutritious grass and cool nights comes to an end. 

During the traditional "Almabtrieb" in South Tyrol, the animals are decorated with bells, wreaths and fresh flowers and brought down to the valley by the dairy farmers. Enjoy the parade of beautifully decorated cattle, sheep, wagons, traditional dancers and whip swingers through the village! 

Programme:

• The festival starts with music and traditional farm products at 10 a.m.
• The parade of the returning cattle through the village centre of Terento starts at about 2 p.m.
