At the harvest from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on the church field in the centre of the village, the crops are cut with a scythe, bundled into sheaves and the Kornmandlan, or “grain people”, are stood up to dry. The arable crops are harvested. Visitors are invited to take part. The traditional Marende snack, called “Neinern“, is just as important as traditional equipment.
NEW! This year Slow Grain will be taking part in the harvest, bringing along a wealth of information and delicious treats all centered around the theme of grains.
Traditional dishes as well as music and entertainment complete the program.
